Alain Mikli Glasses

Alain Miklitarian was born in France where he discovered the lycee fresnel, a school specialising in optics and skill. When Mikli first started making glasses, he made ‘prothesis-like glasses’ that were well behaved and unimaginative in line with what he had learnt at optician school. At the age of 23, Alain Mikli glasses was born with the mission to launch a new era for eyewear, where vision needs would no longer be in conflict with style and instead replaced with true ‘jewellery’ for the eyes.’ Inspired by Lebanese Armenian heritage, Alain Mikli glasses are well-known for their use of bold shapes and colours, designs of which are handmade using only pristine materials that create enhanced fit and comfort. By the mid-80s, Alain Mikli glasses were already adorning the faces of A-list celebrities such as Elton John and Grace Jones, evolving to a contemporary celebrity following of Samuel L Jackson and Kanye West who specifically request that Alain Mikli design a pair of ‘shutter shades’ for his ‘stronger’ video. Alain Mikli glasses stay true to their motto ‘frames to see as well as to be seen’ continuously creating vibrant designs that stand out from the crowd with a shape to suit every type of wearer. From glamorous cat eye frames, to rectangular and squared frames, Alain Mikli glasses constantly keep up to date with the latest trends whilst delivering quality, design and superior craftsmanship.
